NHS App uplift

Over the past few months we've been working closely with the NHS App team to gain assurance so that we can offer the same service to your patients when they access Engage Consult via the NHS App, this included a full review of the Engage Consult journeys by their expert teams to ensure that our pages are user friendly and accessible. Your patients can now upload files/photos when completing a medical consultation or admin query via the NHS App.

Patient Call

We're super excited to announce our new patient call feature. Using the Engage Toolbar, call a patient through from the waiting room using the Engage Consult app on a patient's personal mobile device, utilising push notifications which incur no cost.

Infrastructure

  • We’ve introduced a tagging system for our AWS resources to enhance management and organisation. This update is a step towards automating the identification and removal of deprecated or unused resources.

  • The scaling strategy for servers managing synchronous communications was improved, ensuring we have more than sufficient capacity during updates and routine maintenance.
  • Improvements were made to the production logging pipeline, ensuring it is now fully optimised for better connectivity with the production database and aligned with our best practices, including enforcing the correct network configuration and security settings.
  • We’ve made it easier to access management console reports by provisioning them via a new web address under the engagehealth.gp domain. This update allows reports to be accessed through a standard port, eliminating the need for any additional firewall configuration. Users can now seamlessly view reports even if their local network restricts access to non-standard ports.

  • We fixed an issue which prevented the enabling of push notifications in our development environment.

Coming soon...

Appointment reminders

We've been doing lots of work in the background on our new appointment reminders feature. You will be able to send automated SMS reminders to patients about their face-to-face appointments, helping to reduce DNA rates. We're also working with the NHS App team to allow us to send appointment reminders directly to a patient's NHS App account utilising push notifications which will save on SMS costs for the practice.

If you're interested in being the first to use this new feature, give us a shout!

Care navigation

We're also working on improving our care navigation feature, which will allow you to route or prioritise requests based on the request type, medical problem, admin query, questionnaire completed or patient/s involved.
